Saltillo - Julia Barnes Segars, 57, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 3, 2009, after an extended illness. She was born January 19, 1952 to James Edward and Wanda Ruth McCarley Barnes in Dallas, Texas. She worked 30 years for Renasant Bank primarily in the investment department. She was a member of Covenant Life Presbyterian Church in Saltillo where she served as a president of the Women in the church group. She enjoyed drawing, reading and participating in women's Bible Study. She also loved spending time with her family and her grandchildren
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Dr. August Kuiper officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 40 years, David Segars of Saltillo; three daughters, Sarah Crouch (Michael) of Saltillo, Shea Harmon (Kelly) of Mooreville, and Suzanne Bingham (Ben) of Nettleton; two sisters, Kathye Anderson (Jimmy) of Brooksville and Sharon Reifers (David) of Columbus; one brother, Prentiss Barnes (Tiffany) of Kemah, Tex.; eight grandchildren, Sarah Catherine Crouch, Emma Elizabeth Crouch, Anna Caroline Crouch, Sophia Abigail Crouch, Max Gardner Harmon, Hannah Meredith Harmon, James Reed Bingham, and David Cooper Bingham; her aunt, Mary Catherine Kellum (John Harold) of Guntown; her uncle, Claude Duke of Tupelo; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Edna Ganaway.
Pallbearers will be Charles Covington, Tom Ellis, Jack Johnson, Buddy Palmer, Roger Dale Potts, and Steve Yeoman.
Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Saltillo funeral home.
