JUDITH JOHNSON Guntown - Judith Johnson, 75, passed away, Saturday, December 21, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born November 15, 1938, in Illinois to Art and Ruth Berry Whitaker. She retired after many years of service as a tax auditor with the Internal Revenue Service. Judith had many hobbies including sewing and reading. When asked, her children's favorite memories of her were simply the time spent with them. She loved the holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas and would cook for them all day. Afterwards, she would just sit back and watch them. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2013, at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with her son-in-law, Toney Cox officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery in Selmer, Tennessee. Survivors include her five children; sons, Timothy Clinton Cassidy (Julie) of Missouri, James Edward Lindsey of Saltillo and Kenneth Walter Johnson of Guntown; daughters, Annette Cox (Toney) of Saltillo and Deanna Ruth Hurst of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Loretta Elverud (Gary) of Idaho and Bonnie Bramlett of Nashville; eighteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Berry Nizinski and step-father, Walter Nizinski; father, Art Whitaker; daughter, Judi Lynn Cassidy; two brothers, Michael Nizinski and Stephen Nizinski. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Monday and continue following the services at W. E. Pegues, Saltillo.
