JUANITA CALLOWAY Tupelo - Juanita Calloway, 83, passed away Monday, January 27, 2014, at Golden Living Center. A Tupelo native, she was born October 31, 1930, to Delton and Oceola Clark. For over forty years, she was a buyer and bookkeeper for Black's Department Store. She was a very outgoing and friendly person and was an avid reader. Her favorite color was red. She was a member of East Heights Baptist Church. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Tim Brown officiating. Burial will be in Black Zion Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include one brother, Louis Clark of Tupelo; five grandchildren; one niece and a host of nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Simmons Calloway in 1987; one son, Clay Douglas Calloway in 2002; one sister, Bette Crockett; one brother, Raymond Clark. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.peguesfuneralhome.com
