Saltillo " JOYCE RIDGE SWINDLE, 78, died unexpectedly Tuesday, January 1, 2008, at her residence. An Itawamba County native, she was born June 21, 1929 to the late Charles Robert and Nancy Maude Bingham Ridge. She worked for many years as a Nursing Supervisor for North Mississippi Medical Center, retiring in 1991. She was an avid writer and was loved by everyone who knew her. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Father Henry Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include one daughter, Tony Surella Bew of Tupelo; two sons, Dr. Michael Earl Swindle and wife, Susan, of Saltillo and Charles Ray Swindle of Hong Kong, China; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 40 years, CWO Lester Earl Swindle.
Memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church.
