JOYCE MCKINNEY Tupelo - Viola Joyce McKinney, 91, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012, at The Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born October 12, 1920 to Benoni and Fannie McKinney. She graduated from Mooreville High School. She retired from Mississippi Valley Gas Company after twenty-nine years of service. She was a member of Ballardsville Baptist Church. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Roger Franks officiating. Burial will be in Dorsey Cemetery. Survivors include two sisters, Jeane McKinney of Mooreville and Johnnie Whitten of Blue Springs; one nephew, Joe Phil Whitten (Betty) of Blue Springs; two neices, Betty Womack (Ralph) of Dekalb and Becky Jackson (Ricky) of Tupelo. She was preceded in death by her parents. Pallbearers will be Joe Phil Whitten, Ricky and Brooks Jackson, Charles Sheffield, T. J. Kilpatrick, Davis Manning and Al Duff. Visitation will be Noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
