EGGVILLE - Joyce Ramsey Lamb, 75, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a long illness. She was born April 24, 1932, to the late Thomas Houston Ramsey and Lula Langston Parrett Ramsey. She was a retired nurse for the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was an instructor for Charm Step Shoes. She graduated from nursing school in 1979 and worked at NMMC from 1974-1995. She was a member of Tupelo Freewill Baptist Church. She loved reading her Bible, doing yard work and working in her flowers.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues. The Rev. Terry Pierce will officiate, and Bro. Leon Willis and the Rev. Castor Buse will assist. Burial will be in Eggville Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Largus Ecolee Lamb of Eggville; one daughter, Lanelle Butler (Alvie) of Dorsey; two sons, Richard Lamb (Diana) of Evansville, Ind., and Greg Lamb (Rhonda) of Eggville; three sisters, Ann Lauderdale of Eggville, Geri McCarty (Kenny) of Palmetto and Sandy Biereichel (Iwan) of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one brother, Ted Ramsey of Michigan City, Ind.; a half sister, Deborah Cox of Lake Charles, La.; grandchildren, Sharon Muangprasert (Bob), Alysia Rhinefort (Troy), and Lee Lamb (Jennie), all of Evansville, Ind., Beth Howell (Jason) of West Point, Luann Butler of Vernon, Ala., Blake Lamb (fiance, Christi Westmoreland) of Eggville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Juanita Swann and Sylvia Dale Gunter; and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Lauderdale.
Pallbearers will be Lee Lamb, Blake Lamb, Ben Hardin, Bob Lamb, Chris Lauderdale and Doug Lamb.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kerrie Weathers, Marty Keith, Dr. Rud Robinson and Dr. Ben Moore.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
