Saltillo

Joyce Ann Jones, 81, passed away at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS on February 4, 2025, following an extended battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Joyce was born May 1,1943 in Canton, Illinois, the daughter of Oscar and Edyth M. Jones. Joyce was a 1961 graduate of Canton High School and attended Spoon River Junior College. In her early adult life, she was a very successful sales associate with the House of Decorative Accessories (HODA) and won numerous prizes and awards. Over the years, she worked in a variety of roles in both Property Management and the Real Estate Industry in Illinois, Tennessee, and Mississippi. Following her retirement, she was a caregiver for the bed babies at the Harrisburg Baptist Church Dayschool.

Prior to her death, Joyce resided for over seven years at Creekside Manor Assisted Living in Saltillo, where the staff and residents became her second family. She loved music (especially Elvis) and could often be found entertaining everyone there with her singing and dancing. As her mind and body began failing over the years, her loved ones continued to see glimpses of her personality shine through her facial expressions and general “orneriness”.

Joyce loved her family fiercely, especially her grandchildren. She was a twenty-three year breast cancer survivor and one of her favorite things to say when dealing with hard things was that “this too shall pass.” You could often find her singing “There Will Be Peace in the Valley” when facing challenging times. Joyce was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Edyth Jones; her siblings, George, Chester, and Paul Jones, Wilma Behymer, Patricia Ellsworth, and Marjorie Joan Zilch; along with her son, Troy David Beadles.

Joyce is survived by her children, Todd Christopher Beadles (Melanie) of Oxford; Tracy Anne Malone (David) of Saltillo; her grandchildren, Gary A. Beadles of Birmingham, Alabama; Tyla Bullins of Kernersville, North Carolina; Blake Beadles of Indianapolis, Indiana; Rachael Malone Steele (Hunt) of Memphis, Tennessee; Melody Beadles of Whitsett, North Carolina; Ryan Malone of St. Louis, Missouri; and Noah Pickering of Oxford, along with her former husband, Gary W. Beadles and his wife, Lynn of Tupelo.

Joyce will be buried at Tupelo Memorial Park following a graveside service for family and friends at 2 p.m. s Friday, February 7, 2025,  with Rev. Tim Alexander officiating. Pegues Funeral Directors is honored to assist with arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Gary A. Beadles, Blake Beadles, Ryan Malone, Hunt Steele, David Malone, and Steven Polley.
