TUPELO - Joyce Maynard Grissom, 74, died Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a long illness. A Tupelo native, she born Nov. 5, 1932, to the late A.P. "Dep" and Grace McFarling Maynard. She was a 1950 graduate of Tupelo High School and a dental assistant for Dr. Charles Nash for 17 years. She was a gifted worker and caregiver for the elderly. She was a very active member of Harrisburg Baptist Church. She was the widow of Lawrence "Ray" Grissom.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. David Langerfeld and the Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Belden Cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Marti Hardin (Jim) of Tupelo; one son, Larry Grissom (Cindy) of Blue Springs; one sister, Linda Maynard Riley of Guntown; three brothers, Bob Maynard (Joan) of Belden, and Danny Maynard (Nancy) and Mike Maynard of Tupelo; a sister-in-law, Helon Maynard; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Grissom; nine grandchildren, Karen Grissom, Luke Hollimon (Kacie), Kayla Clayton (Jerrett), Hayden Eisenzimmer (Aaron), Heather Grissom, Griff Loftis, Haley Hopkins, James Lee Hopkins, and Walt Simpson and family; five great-grandchildren, Cameron Hollimon, Isaiah Mahaffey, Daylon Eisenzimmer, Addison Clayton and Drew Hollimon; a special friend, Felix Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jim Grissom; a son-in-law, Charley Hollimon; a sister, Carolyn Furr; four brothers, Jim, Hershel, Richard and Charles Maynard; and a nephew, Bryan Riley.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Luke Hollimon, Griff Loftis, Jarrett Clayton and Aaron Eisenzimmer; and nephews, Tyler Riley, Rick Maynard, Jon Maynard and Bennett Maynard.

Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, Matt Maynard, Tom Kellum, Ryan Gregory, Phillip Riley, Al Furr, Terry Robertson; grandsons, James Lee Hopkins and Walt Simpson; and her Sunday school class at Harrisburg Baptist Church.
