Joyce Faye Pannell Duncan died Friday, November 20, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born August 26, 1937 in the Mount Vernon Community to Clise Chapel and Bertha Faye Crouch Pannell. Joyce graduated from Tupelo High School in 1955, and attended Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee. She married William L. “Buddy” Duncan in December of 1955. Joyce worked in Poultry Sales and Marketing as Office Manager and Accounting Supervisor with Purnell’s Pride and Schaper Co. for 38 years until retiring in 2003. After her retirement, Joyce and Buddy traveled and enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved crocheting, Bunka Embroidering, reading and researching genealogy. Joyce was an avid collector of many things, but loved her Gone with the Wind collection and took pleasure in hosting an open house during the Christmas season for everyone to enjoy her Department 56 Snow Village collection. She was a very active member of St. Mark United Methodist Church serving as Chairperson of Finance, President of Administration Board and various other committees and volunteered in many other programs the church held.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues, Tupelo with Rev. Jerry Beam, Rev. Don McCain and Rev. Danny Dabbs officiating. A private family graveside will follow at Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 60 years, Buddy Duncan of Tupelo, daughters, Vickie Lynn Narcy of Ridgeland and Darla Jannette Duncan of Tupelo; son, William L. Duncan, Jr. (Callie) of Meridian; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Jannette Pannell Knight (Buddy); nephews, Butch and Bubba Knight; four great-nephews; one great-niece; two great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.

Memorials may be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 175 Elvis Presley Drive, Tupelo, MS 38804.
