JOYCE BRANN
Tupelo - Joyce Pettit Brann, 86, died Thursday, January 18, 2007, at her residence after an extended illness. She was born August 13, 1920 in Weakley County, Tenn. She was a loving wife to the Rev. T.K. Brann whom she married on April 19, 1940. She shared in his ministry and service at six full time pastorates and 29 interim pastorates. She was active in GA's, Bible School, Sunday School and WMU. She had been a member of East Heights Baptist Church in Tupelo for the past 25 years where she taught Sunday School until her health failed recently. She was a devoted and loving homemaker, mother, and grandmother.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2007 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Jim Holcomb and Rev. Jason Marlin officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Rev. Kermit Brann of Tupelo; one daughter, Dianne Deshler (Virgil) of Oxford, Ala.; one son, Mark Brann (Pam) of Belden; three grandsons, David Deshler of Moss Point; Jeff Deshler of Empire, Col., Will Brann of Belden; one great-granddaughter, Savannah; and her sister-in-law, Sarah Rogers of Tupelo.
She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Steve Deshler and Clay Brann.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Grissom, Tommy Rogers, Hal Edge, Buddy Palmer, Mike Dickerson and Clark Tucker.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
