Mooreville - Josie Faye Taylor, 80, died Wednesday, April 2, 2009, at the Renal Care Center after a brief illness. A Lee County native and lifelong resident, she was born September 4, 1928, to Joel and Leona Barber Mabry. She lived in Mooreville all of her adult life and retired from Sadler Manufacturing Company. She was married to her best friend and lifelong companion, Swep Taylor who died October 1, 1996. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Minister Joe Connell and Doug Greenway officiating. Burial will be in Boguefala Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Randy Taylor and wife, Rene, of Tupelo and Jimmy Taylor and wife, Brenda, of Ballardsville; four grandchildren, Adam Taylor of Tupelo, Tony Taylor of Mooreville, Matt Taylor and wife, Amy, of Wheeler, and Pam Evers and husband, John of Guntown; four great-grandchildren, Morgan, Samuel, Shelly, and Jordan; one sister, Bobbie Sue Russell of Fulton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Swep Taylor.
Pallbearers will be Adam Taylor, Matt Taylor, Tony Taylor, John Evers, David Taylor, Stan Hussey.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
