New Albany - JOSHUA LEE KEMPER, 34, died Sunday, February 10, 2008, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a sudden illness. A Peoria native, he was born December 8, 1973 to Danny Lee Kemper and Laura Lee Kent Hooks. He was a special young man who enjoyed the outdoors and playing with his Fisher Price telephone. He loved his nieces and nephews and enjoyed the time he spent with them. He attended Hillcrest Baptist Church where he loved the praise and worship music.
A Memorial Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Baptist Church in New Albany with Dr. Gerald Hodges officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his mother Laura Lee Kent Hooks; his stepfather, Gregory Hooks both of New Albany; his father, Danny Lee Kemper (Margaret) of Missouri; two sisters, Crystal Hendrix of Potts Camp and Rebecca Whilly of Wisconsin; five brothers, James Ratton, Jacob Kemper, Brandon Kemper and Bruce Hill, all of Illinois, and Donald Kemper of Missouri; his grandmother, Jane Kent of Illinois; his grandfather, John Kent (Shirley) of Illinois; his grandmother, Shirley Kemper of Illinois.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Andrew Kemper; and his grandfather, Ralph Kemper.
