Pensacola, Florida formerly of Saltillo- Jon Micheal Snider, 33, died Thursday, November 15, 2018 in the Covenant Hospice Unit of West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born in Saltillo, March 17, 1985 to Olen Micheal and Teresa Snider. In 2003, he graduated from Saltillo High School where he played the saxophone in the band and received many achievement awards in math and science. He received his Master’s Degree of Education from Mississippi State University. He was an Eagle Scout in Troop 5 where his father was the Troop Master. He enjoyed playing tennis, gaming and hanging out with his friends and family.
Survivors include his parents, Micheal and Teresa Snider of Saltillo; two sister, Lynsey Snider DeLozier of Dallas,Texas and Calista “Kissey” Allen of Amory; one niece, Carragan Allen of Amory; three nephews, Joshua Page and his wife, Brandy of Aberdeen, Nathan Russell of Amory and Casen DeLozier of Dallas; and three great nieces of Aberdeen.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Travis and Helen Whitfield, Olen Snider and Sarah Hyatt; and one nephew, Tyler DeLozier.
Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2018 at Faith Baptist Church with Dr. Ken Anderson and Dr. Phil Ellis officiating. W.E. Pegues Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be 3 until 6 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2018 at the church and 12 p.m. until service time Monday, November 19, 2018 at the church.
