SHANNON - John A. "Johnny" Hall, 62, died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007, at his home in Shannon after a sudden illness. He was born June 4, 1945, in Lee County to John Adam Hall II and Wilda Laverne Graham Hall. He had lived in the Shannon area since 1951. He was a 1963 graduate of Shannon High School. He was the co-owner of Central Barber Shop in Tupelo since 1964 and a member of the First Baptist Church of Shannon. He was a past Grand Master of the Palmetto Masonic Lodge. A very avid knife enthusiast, he loved spending time with his kids and grandkids, and visiting with his friends at the barber shop.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Dr. Rex Yancey, the Rev. Marion Holley and Sammy Lansdell officiating. Burial will be in the Priceville Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 43 years, Frances Hall of Shannon; three children, John A. Hall III and Sherri of Saltillo, Martha Hall Phillips and Bryan of Shannon, and Joe Monts Hall and Barbara of Tupelo; four grandchildren, Abigail Phillips, John Michael Phillips, Morgan Hall and Josie Hall.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Carlisle, Sid Holcomb, Paul Taylor, Rick Crone, Sammy Hardin, Dewayne Ard and Larry McCarter.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
