Tupelo - Johnnie Faye Taylor, 78, died Wednesday, December 19, 2007, at The Meadows in Fulton after an extended illness. She was born January 18, 1929, in Eupora to the late Thomas Elmer and Minnie Lucius Henley. She worked for 17 years at Southern Bell Telephone as a representative. She was also a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She was a faithful member of Harrisburg Baptist Church where she served as secretary for her Sunday School class for many years and was also involved with the WMU.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Forrest Sheffield officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Dr. Bobby Taylor of Tupelo; two daughters, Joni T. Smith and husband, Patrick Ross Smith of Tupelo and Jean K. Pearce and husband, Craig Pearce, of Mooreville; one grandson, Taylor Williams of Tupelo; four sisters, Mildred Scro, Sarah Elkin, Charlene Jones, and Lois Lewis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Donald, Ralph, and Thomas E. Henley, Jr., and five sisters, Inez Mitchell, Maxine Howard, Nellie Smith, Morea Neal, Melba Brown.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Taylor Williams, Patrick Ross Smith, Craig Pearce, Jimmy Elkin, Gary Elkin, Ronnie Elkin, Donnie Elkin, and Mitch Williams.

Visitation will continue Friday until service time.
