Saltillo- Johnnie Fay Marks Davis, 66, died Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Spring Gate Rehabilitation in Memphis, Tennessee after a lengthy illness. A native and life-long resident of Saltillo, she was born October 10, 1951, to William Henderson and Lottie Fay King Marks. She was 1969 graduate of Saltillo High School. She married Johnny Daryl Buffenbarger and together they had a son, William Craig Buffenbarger. On January 3, 1976, Johnny and William Craig died tragically in a car accident. For 26 years, she worked as a cashier for Super D in Tupelo. Johnnie’s passion was crochetting and she was lovingly referred to as the “queen of crochetting” by her family. She also loved dogs and working crossword puzzles. Johnnie was a long-time member of Euclatubba Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Jeffery H. Davis of Saltillo; two sisters, Brenda Jo Marks of Saltillo and Martha Maloney and her husband, Dan of Jacksonville, Florida; one brother, Howard Marks and his wife, Joann of Saltillo; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son; and her first husband.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at W.E. Pegues, Saltillo.
Services honoring her life will be 2p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. James Marks officiating. Burial will be in Saltillo Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Dean, Allen King, Ricky King, Wilbur Mancill and Jerry Mancill.
