Dr. JOHN WARD
Tupelo " DR. JOHN COCHRAN WARD, 36, died Wednesday, December 5, 2007, at his residence. He was born March 25, 1971, in Gulfport to Judson Huffman and Martha Cochran Ward. A 1989 graduate of Starkville High School, he then went on to Mississippi State University where he completed his undergraduate work in 1999. He earned his medical degree from the University Of Mississippi School Of Medicine in 2005. He was serving his third year of residency, specializing in family medicine. He grew up in Starkville where he was an Eagle Scout and an all district soccer player. He married Melissa Coots Ward August 17, 1997 at the Latter-Day Saints Temple in St. Louis, Mo. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Thomas Street.
Services will be 3 p.m. Friday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with Mr. Harry T. Brown and Mr. Gene Voyles officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of ten years, Melissa C. Ward of Tupelo; four daughters, Jay Macalah Ward, Raeli Anne Ward, Porcelain Aleeya Tisdale and Guinivier Elise Tisdale, all of the home; his parents, Jud and Martha Ward of Starkville; six sisters, Mary Bess Young and husband, Duane of Chattanooga, Tenn., Amy Anne Duclos and husband, Martin, of Starkville, Sarah Virginia Ward of Jackson, Nancy Ratcliff and husband, Justin, of Niceville, Fla., Julie Watson and husband, Man, of Milwaukee, Wisc., and Diana Ward of Red Bank, New Jersey; two brothers, Thomas Allen Ward and wife, Brooke, and David Ward and wife, Penny, all of Starkville; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Jewel Coots of Mobile, Ala.
Pallbearers will be Alex Farned, Nathan Laser, Jermaine Jones, Brandon Hooper, Chris Park, and Rob Carter.
