John T. Shannon

John T. Shannon Racine, Wisconsin formally of Tupelo - John Thomas Shannon, 76, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at the Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare - All Saints Inc. in Racine, Wisconsin. He was born May 25, 1940, to Elgie and Effie Morise Shannon. John was married to Arma Mae Rogers for many years until her passing. He was a mechanic at an automotive shop and was Baptist by faith. John loved sweets and chocolates, enjoyed watching the "Martin" T. V. show, spending time with his family and his grandkids and especially counting his money.     Survivors include his five children; one sister; one brother; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his wife, Arma Mae Rogers Shannon; parents, Elgie and Effie Morise Shannon; several brothers; granddaughter, Saquila and daughter-in-law, Emma Shannon.   Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday, October 8, 2016, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.   Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2016, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues.
