John R. Sandlin

John Russell Sandlin, 69, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the hospice unit of North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in Saltillo, March 27, 1949 to Cecil and Mary Edith Putt Sandlin. He was a 1969 graduate of Saltillo High School. He was a carpenter, plumber and "jack of all trades". He loved his dogs Hambone and Sadie.
Survivors include two daughters, Suzanne Rice (Hugh) and Mary Grace Hall (Scotty)both of Saltillo ; one son, Justin Sandlin of Saltillo; six grandchildren, Issac Hall, Will Rice, Hannah Rice, Jesslyn Sandlin, Derik Sandlin and Axl Sandlin all of Saltillo; and one brother, Sammy Sandlin of Saltillo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Mary Sandlin; and one brother, Bobby Sandlin.
A private burial ceremony will be held in the family cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tupelo Lee Humane Society, 2400 S. Gloster St. Tupelo, MS 38801.
