John Raymond Anglin
Auburn Community - John Raymond Anglin, age 81, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the Courtyard Nursing Facility in Fulton. He was born January 3, 1943, the son of Orbin Anglin and Annie Mae Caygle Anglin Barnes. John was a graduate of Mooreville High School. He began his working career at Tennessee Valley Authority at Yellow Creek, and then later served many years as an electrician for Tupelo Public Works from which he retired. John was married to Virginia Anglin, and they enjoyed over 50 years of marriage before her passing in February of 2014. He was a member of Crossroads Christian Church and Masonic Lodge 318. John loved being outdoors, enjoying nature while fishing and hunting.
He leaves behind two sons, Richard Anglin and wife, Janie, of Baldwyn and Michael Anglin and wife, Rebecca, of Walnut; two grandsons, Paul and Matthew Anglin, both of Walnut; and two sisters, Brenda Kaye Langston and husband, William, of Baldwyn and Sue Caldwell and husband, Donnie, of the Auburn Community.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; his parents, Orbin Anglin and Annie Mae Barnes; a brother, Randy Anglin; and a sister, Marsha Anglin.
Visitation will be 4 until 7 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Pegues, Tupelo.
Services honoring John’s memory will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2024, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues with Chaplin John Cagle and Bro. Tim McMillian officiating. Graveside services will follow at Crossroads Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Paul Anglin, Matthew Anglin, Chris Kemp, Keith Lindsey, Jeff Taylor, and Donald Easter.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Kemp and James Gamble.
