JOHN H. RASS
Brandon, Miss. - John H. Rass, 76, died Thursday, November 16, 2006, at The Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, Miss. after a brief illness. A native of Detroit, Mich., he was born April 26, 1930 to Luise Rass and the late Herman Rass. In the early 1960s, he graduated from Lawrence Tech in Detroit. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was married to Grace D. Rass who preceded him in death March 10, 1998. In 1992, he retired after many years of service with the Vickers Corp. in Jackson which is now Eaton Corp. Earlier in life, he enjoyed playing golf. He was a close family man and had been caring for his mother in his home. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He attended of Crossgates Baptist Church in Brandon.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday, November 20, at Crossgates Baptist Church, 8 Crosswoods Road, Brandon, Miss., with Rev. Claude Shufelt officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors, Saltillo Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Karla M.Strickland and husband, Robert L.,of Saltillo; two sons, John H. Rass, and Kurt M. Rass and wife, Tonya, all of Brandon; his mother, Luise Rass of Brandon; one sister, Luise Leppanen of Farmington, MI; one brother, Herman Rass of Livonia, MI; three grandchildren, DeCarol Hardenburg, III, Kurt Rass and Kathleen Rass.
