Plantersville - John LeRoy Keene, 47, died Sunday, June 18, 2006, at Residence after a sudden illness. He was born August 26, 1958 in Lebanon, Missouri to Helen Ballog Keene and the late Richard M. Keene. A 1976 graduate of Tupelo High School, he then went on to University of Mississippi where he graduated in 1980 with a degree in marketing. He had lived in the Tupelo area since 1971. He enjoyed playing golf and bowling and loved his nieces.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 22, 2006 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues. His sister, Barbara Becker will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in Plantersville Cemetery.
Survivors include his mother, Helen Keene of Tupelo; one sister Barbara Becker and husband, Gary, of Apex, NC; two nieces, Laura Becker of New York City and Katherine Becker of Westminster, MD.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Keene; and his grandparents.
Visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
