Cherokee, Ala. - John Bernard Godwin, 58, died Thursday, June 22, 2006, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a sudden illness. He was a resident of Cherokee, Ala. He received his bachelor of science degree the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was an ODE service manager, currently working at Lowe's in Tupelo.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Mynot Church of Christ on Mynot Road in Cherokee, Ala. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one sister, Mary Barfield of Greenwood, S.C.; two brothers, Mike Godwin of Lithia, Fla., and Tom Godwin of Dunn, N.C.
