John Frerer

Tupelo - John Paul Frerer, 18, died Thursday, August 13, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford due to injuries sustained in an accident. He was born March 19, 1991, to Jim and Liria Peshkepia Frerer. A senior at Tupelo High School, he was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, achieving Eagle Scout and the Order of the Arrow. A leader at THS, he was a four year Rotary Scholar, served as president of the freshman student council, and involved in many clubs including Future Medical Professionals, Key Club, Excaliber Science Club and the Latin Club. He was a member of Wave Connection for two years. He finished in the top five percent at the Mississippi College State Math and Science Competition in 2008. He was a participant in the National Youth Leadership Conference, 2008. He was an acomplished athlete, competing in many triathlon events throughout the state. He was a member of Team America Triathlon Team which defended and won the first place title at the King of the Hill Triathlon, 2009. He was an active member of St. James Catholic Church where he was an Altar Server. His family and friends will remember him as a passionate young man of depth and integrity

Services will be Sunday, August 16, 2009 at St. James Catholic Church with Father Henry Shelton and Father Tom Lalor officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his parents, Jim and Liria Frerer; one brother, Chad Frerer; his sister, Danielle Frerer, all of Tupelo; his paternal grandmother, Sharon Griffith (John) of Tupelo; his paternal grandfather, Jim (Nancy) Frerer of Carthage, Mo.; his maternal grandfather, Hairedin Peshkepia of Hemet, Calif..

Pallbearers will be Matt White, Stephen Stone, Will Collins, Tucker Napier, Brooks Jackson, Sam Hand, Ross Waycaster, Bill Cassilly

Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Tupelo Bicycle Club and the Boy Scouts of America, Troups 3 and 12.

A Prayer Vigil for the Deceased will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday with visitation following until 9 p.m.
