Palmetto Community—Joel E. Lindley, age 84, passed away Friday, December 2, 2022 at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born June 17, 1938 in the Brewer Community to Angie Lindley and Elmer Parker Lindley. For many years Joel owned and operated the Tupelo Driving Range. He also worked in auto sales for several years. Joel was a great conversationalist and enjoyed spending time with friends and family playing cards and dominoes. He also like to fish in his younger days. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church.
Joel leaves behind four children, Charles E. Lindley and wife, Mary, Phil Lindley, and Johnny Lindley and wife, Amy, all of Palmetto and David Lindley and wife, Susie, of Ingomar; three sisters, Faye Hamblin of Tupelo, Mable Millogin of Tewoxsbury, Massachusetts, and Halove Morgan of Plantersville; ten grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and special friend, Tangie Blankenship.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Mary Katherine Lindley and a daughter, Dinah Simons.
Visitation will be 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Pegues, Tupelo. Services will follow at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Jefferson Street Chapel with Rev. Rob Garland officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Macedonia.
