JOE TURNER Saltillo - Joe Albert Turner, 73, died Thursday, June 21, 2012, at The North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born June 3, 1939 in Tippah County to James Virtis and Annie H. Windham Turner. He worked many years at Piper Industries and retired after many years of service from Columbian Rope Company in Guntown. Services will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 24, 2012 at The Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Bud Wheatley and Rev. Jerry Davis officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Laura O. Turner of Saltillo; his daughter, Diane Owens of Belden; two sisters, Jeanette Beaty (Rickey) and Joan Holmes both of Ripley; two brothers, Lee Turner of Saltillo and James Turner of Falkner; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Rose; his parents; two sisters, Jenice & Jolane Turner; his nephew, David Turner. Pallbearers will be grandsons, nephews, brother-in-law and his friends. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Saltillo Funeral Home.
