Baldwyn - Joe Myhand, 76, died Wednesday, November 3, 2010, at his residence after an extended illness. A native of Guntown, he was born June 12, 1934 to Charlie Burlison and Birdie Whitaker Myhand. He was a retired construction worker, loved farming, and was also a small engine mechanic. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at First Independant Baptist Church with Rev. Tobby Mears and Rev. Dwyght Scott officiating. Burial will be in East Mt. Zion Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Mary Myhand of the Pratts Community; one daughter, Joyce McClarty (John) of Olive Branch; two step-sons, Dale Sinard of Morristown, Tenn. and Gary Sinard of Maryville, Tenn.; five sisters, Rose McCullough (David) of Saltillo, Ozella Watson (Don) of the Palestine Community, Thelma Garner of Saltillo, Virginia Sanders of Baldwyn and Linda James of Auburndale, Fla.; two brothers, Danny Myhand of Baldwyn and Dale Myhand (Gail) of Aubrndale, Fla.; and several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Joyner, Nocomma Myhand, Shannon Bone, Terry Myhand, Jackie Myhand and Mark Bishop. Honorary Pallbearers will be David Myhand, Edward Myhand, and Kevin Myhand.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to service time at the church Saturday.
