JOE M. MILLS Sherman - Joe M. Mills, 76, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Born to Jacob Cage and Ruby Pollard Mills in Kossuth, Mississippi on December 2, 1937. He attended West Jackson Street Baptist Church. He was retired from J.P. Mills, Inc. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2013, at West Jackson Street Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Cochran and Rev. Bert Harper officiating. Interment will be at Wheeler Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Green Mills of Sherman; three sons, Mike Mills (Rebecca) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Bob Mills (Beth) of Pontotoc, Scott Mills of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; seven grandchildren, Reid, John, Cage, Caleb, Clark, Rachel and Mollie Mills; one sister, Joyce Mattox of Kossuth. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob Cage and Ruby Pollard Mills and his brother, J.P. "Jake" Mills. Pallbearers will be James Thornton and grandsons, Reid, John, Cage, Caleb and Clark Mills. Visitation will be 3 - 7 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the funeral home.
