JOE HOWARD ESTES

Mooreville - JOE HOWARD ESTES, 71, died Friday, May 18, 2007, at his residence. A Lee County native, he was born January 21, 1936 to the late Eli Hugh and Verble Mae Dozier Estes. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Ministers Larry Lott and Delbert Turner, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Eggville Cemetery.

Survivors include his children, Kathy Odom and husband, Eddie, of Mantachie, Tina Pate and husband, Gerald, of Tupelo, Greg Estes and wife, Gayla,and Jeff Estes and wife, Tammy, all of Mooreville; his brothers and sisters, Margie Cook and husband, W.C., of Eggville, Maynor Blackburn and husband, Bill, of Memphis, Martha Draper and husband, Luther, of Hurculean, MO, Willie Gene Estes and wife, Francine, of Dorsey, Tommy Estes and wife, Myra, of Mooreville, Geneva Melko and husband, Chuck, of Ecru, and Mary Frances Hallman of Fulton; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Helen Janice Estes; two brothers, Hugh Allen Estes and Robert Estes; and four half brothers, Fred Estes, Holder C. Ester, Hoyle Estes, and Harold Sullins.

Pallbearers will be Corey Ellis, James A. Cayson, Casey Cayson, Jason Estes, Josh Estes, Allen Denton, and Mitch Harrison.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Thornton and Sammy Sullivan.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
