JOANN LODEN WOOD Birmingham Ridge - JoAnn Loden Wood, 72, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2014, at the Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. She was born in Yazoo County on November 28, 1941, to Ebb Loden and Pauline Lambert Loden. She was raised in the Dorsey Community of Itawamba County. JoAnn was a homemaker while raising four children and a host of grandchildren. Later she became a very accomplished artist and teacher of art and impacted many lives. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 31, 2014, at The Saltillo Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Tim Green officiating. A private family graveside service will follow in McNeil Cemetery. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, James Ray Wood; three daughters, Kim Pastis Westhouse, (Chris), Lisa Wood Roberts, Tracy Wood Crysup; one son, James Scott Wood; seven grandsons; three granddaughters; four great grandsons; four great-granddaughters; one brother, Jerry Loden; two sisters, Jeanette Loden Walton (Joe), Linda Prestage Holcomb (Don); and two sisters-in-law, Scottie Wood Knight (Harold) and Jerry Wood. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother Ebb Loden; and two brothers-in-laws, Kelly Wade Prestage and Joe Wood. Pallbearers will be Gary Knight, Chip Prestage, Allen Knight, Lee Prestage, Andy Loden, and Jim Long. Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Walton and Jason Walton.
