JOANN PARHAM BARNES
Tupelo - Joann Parham Barnes, 81, died Wednesday, August 16, 2006, at Tupelo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness. A Lee County native, she was born June 27, 1925 to the late Joe Franklin and Hattie McKissack Parham. She was the owner of Jo Ann's Beauty Shop. She served as a Church Clerk for many years at Tupelo Freewill Baptist Church and most recently had attended Tupelo Church of God.
Services will be 11 am Saturday, August 19, 2006 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Bill Roberson and Rev. Jack Ezell officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include two nephews John "Bud" Roberson, of Tupelo, Bill Roberson and wife Sandy of Tupelo, two great-nephews, Landon Roberson and fiance, Jennifer Liverett, of Tupelo, and Nicholas Roberson of Memphis; one great great niece, Emily Roberson; and two great great nephews, Mathew Liverett and Scout Roberson.
She was preceded in death by one sister Ruth Roberson, husbands Gene Dodd and Melvin Jackson Reed, Sr.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society at 1800 W. Main Street, Box 1, Tupelo, MS 38801.
