MOOREVILLEJo Ann Ponder Morgan, 70, died Friday, January 06, 2006 at her home after an extended illness. She was born March 29, 1935 to the late Eldridge and Nora Dillard Ponder in Pontotoc County. She was a member of Koinonia Baptist Church and was a very loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, and was an excellent cook. She was listed in the national registry of Whos Who.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Dr. Gayle Alexander officiating. Burial will be at Lee Memorial Park.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Therrill Gene Morgan; two daughters, Patricia Long and husband Jimmy of Tupelo and Deborah Frederick and husband, Eddie, of Mooreville; one son, Randy Morgan and wife, Melba of Guntown; one sister, Ruth Johnson and husband Frank of Nettleton; two brothers, Carl Ponder and wife, Virginia Ann, of Plantersville, and James Ponder and wife, Sandra, of Tupelo; four grandchildren, Chris Estes and wife, Sissy of Shannon, Morgan Estes of Tupelo; Forrest and Tarrah Frederick of Mooreville; and one great-grandson, Logan Estes.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Ponder.
Pallbearers will be Gene Ponder, Chris Estes, Jimmy Long, and Eddie Frederick.
Visitation will be 2 until 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
