Jo Nell Grissom

JO NELL GRISSOM Tupelo - Jo Nell Pearce Grissom, 96, passed away Friday, June 12, 2015, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born March 10, 1919, in Mooreville to Thomas Dewey and Mozelle Cayson Pearce. Jo Nell was a Tupelo High School graduate. In 1936, she married Horace W. Grissom. Jo Nell retired from Joyner Elementary School as the Cafeteria Manager. Jo Nell was known by her family and friends for her excellent cooking and her dry sense of humor. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and traveling. Jo Nell loved spending time with her family and doted over the grandchildren and later her three great-grandsons. She was a longtime member of Harrisburg Baptist Church. Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Monday, June 15, 2015, at Lee Memorial Park with Rev. Mark Cayson officiating and eulolgy by Dylan Wood. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Jo Grissom of Tupelo; one son, Jerry Grissom (Marjory) of Tupelo; two grandchildren, Cindy Grissom Wood of Tupelo and John Kevin Grissom (Priscilla) of Superior, Colorado and three great-grandchildren, Dylan Wood, Brandon Wood and Kyler Grissom. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Bobby Pearce, J. B. Pearce and Tom Pearce. Pallbearers will be Kevin Grissom, Dylan Wood, Brandon Wood, Donney Pearce, David Pearce, Randy Pearce and Terry Simons. Visitation will be 4 until 7 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2015, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
