JO GLISSON Tupelo - Jo Glisson, 77, died Friday, July 5, 2013, at the Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee after a six month illness. Those who knew her will always remember her love for shopping, jovial personality and sense of humor. Upon declining health, she moved to Olive Branch where she grew to love and be loved by all the residents of the Silvercreek Senior Living Community. She was a member of The Church of the Crossroads in Corinth. Services will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2013, at The Church of the Crossroads with Rev. Nelson Hight and Rev. R. P. Kloepper officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park in Corinth. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors will be in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include three children, Jan Glisson Avery (Jason) of Ozark, Missouri, Jackie Glisson (Jay Hester) of Memphis, Tennessee and Jerry Glisson (Wendy) of Olive Branch; four grandchildren, Betsy Barker (Phillip) of Olive Branch, Sarah PeConge (Joshua) of Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Savannah and Meredith Avery both of Ozark, Missouri; one great-grandchild, Hannah Jo Barker of Olive Branch; four sisters, Joyce Pratt and Jane Austin both of Southaven, Jean Givens of Ripley and Sheila Tucker of Dumas; one brother, Charles Coln of Memphis, Tennessee. She also had two "adopted" children she called her own, Scott Truelove of Tupelo and Rick Vaughn who recently lost his life in an aviation accident. Visitation will be 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2013, at the funeral home and one hour prior to services Monday, July 8, 2013, at the church. Memorials may be made to Wings Cancer Foundation, 100 N. Humphreys Blvd., Memphis, TN 38120. The family would like to thank all of her caregivers, Dr. Robert Johnson, the staff of The West Clinic, Dr. Sylvia Richey and the nurses at Baptist East Hospital for all their help and support.
