JIMMY JOHNSON Jackson - Jimmy H. Johnson, 60, died Monday, April 21, 2014, at his residence in Jackson after a sudden illness. He was born May 19, 1953, to Grover Hoyle and Mary Edith Johnson. A 1971 graduate of Tupelo High School, he then went on to earn his bachelors and masters degrees from Mississippi College in 1975. He worked for the Mississippi Division of Medicaid, Mississippi Department of Health and Regional Rehabilitation Services all in Jackson, until he retired in 2011. He was born and raised in Tupelo and while living in Tupelo was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 24, 2014, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Chad Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. Survivors include his mother, Mary E. Johnson; one sister, Sandra Black (Jason) of Pearl, two brothers, Randy Johnson (Julie) of Murfreesboro,Tennessee and Ricky Johnson of Tupelo; two aunts, Ann Cagle (Stanley) of Baldwyn and Jane Walker (John) of Hampton, New Hampshire; one uncle, Paul Rowan (Linda) of Baldwyn; four nephews, Nicholas Johnson, Andrew Black, Caleb Black, Chance Black; two nieces, Chelsea Black and Ashley Allen. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Edward and Rosa Rowan and Howard and Willie Alma Johnson. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
