Saltillo—Jimmy Dean “Jim” Dozier passed away Monday, April 16, 2024 at his home in Saltillo. He was 83 years old. Born in Spear Lake, Arkansas on April 7, 1941, he was the son of Paul and Rosetta Harvey Dozier. On April 14, 1961, he married the love of his life, Sandra Dozier and they enjoyed 57 years together before her passing in 2018. They made their home and raised their children in Greenville, Mississippi and Jim worked as a manager of a finance company for many years. He was a man of strong faith and a dedicated member of Saltillo’s First Baptist Church. While Jim had many interests, his greatest joy came from the treasured moments he spent with family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jim leaves behind two children, Bruce Dozier of Saltillo and Starla Reaves and her husband, Bud, of Guntown; four grandchildren, Kristen Cleveland and her husband, Dustin, Austin Reaves and his wife, Madison, Chelsea Gamble and her husband, Jordan, and Chase Reaves; five great-grandchildren, Emery and Kinsley Cleveland, Beau and Sam Reaves, and James Gamble.
A service celebrating Jim’s life will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2024 at the Saltillo Chapel of Pegues Funeral Directors. Burial will follow in Campbelltown Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Friday at Pegues, Saltillo.
Pallbearers will be Bud Reaves, Austin Reaves, Chase Reaves, and Dustin Cleveland.
