Guntown - Jimmy Jackson, 76, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born February 24, 1939 to General Frank and Nora Mae Markum Jackson. Jimmy was a 32 degree Mason for several years and served eight years in the Mississippi National Guard. He worked for Malone and Hyde as a manager of the Cash and Carry store and retired after 30 years. Jimmy enjoyed being in the outdoors, camping, visiting with his friends at the campground and working in his shop. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the Saltillo Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Eddie Boutwell officiating. Burial will be in Camp Creek Cemetery. Survivors include one son, Mike Jackson (Lorrie) of Guntown; one daughter Angie McCarty (Keith) of Daphne, Alabama; two grandsons, Brad Jackson (Deana) of Saltillo and John Tyler McCarty of Daphne, Alabama; one granddaughter, Ashton McCarty of Daphne, Alabama; two great grandsons ,Cooper and Turner Jackson; one great granddaughter, Kara Elizabeth Jackson; two step-sons, Phil Lansdell (Susan) and Chris Lansdell (Lisa) of Saltillo; four step-grandchildren, Nick and Evan Lansdell, Julia Claire and Sam Lansdell. He was preceded in death by both parents; his first wife of 35 years Joyce McBrayer Jackson; his second wife Teena Lansdell Jackson; one sister, Opal McCully and one brother, Mitchell Jackson. Pallbearers will be Brad Jackson, Keith McCarty, John Tyler McCarty, Nick Lansdell, Evan Lansdell and Kirby Jackson. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Smith, Wayne Mallette, David Mallette, Stephen Mallette and the AL/MS Dulcimer players. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be left at www.peguesfuneralhome.com .
