JIMMY DICKEY Mooreville - Jimmy Eugene Dickey, 71, died Thursday, June 20, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. He was born July 17, 1941 to Jimmie Elton and Jewel Bross Dickey. He was disabled but he didn't let it slow him down. He enjoyed mowing his yard and being outdoors. He was a master carpenter and a loving father; he treasured the time spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A celebration of his life will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2013 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. Wayne Thorn and Rev. Bobby Holland officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery Church of God of Prophecy. Survivors include his wife of twenty-seven years, Virginia Dickey of Mooreville; two sons, Doug Dickey (Paula) of Tupelo and Terry Dickey (Nita) of Guntown; three daughters, Cheryl Dickinson of Fulton, Kim Curtis (Mike) of Liberty and Regina Duffie of Baldwyn; three sisters, Faye Bean (Edwin) of Mobile, Alabama, Jerry Wood of Saltillo and Evelyn Turner (Jackie) of South Carolina; three brothers, Larry Dickey (Carol) of Fulton, Ronnie Dickey of Alabama, and Ralph Dickey (Goldie) of Saltillo; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lynn Rushing; a sister, Doris Stewart; his parents. Pallbearers will be John Clayton, Larry Hood, Greg and Tracy Fondren, Junior Hood and Doug Dickey, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be James Lackey and Ronnie Dickey. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the funeral home.
