JIMMY DENTON

Tupelo - Jimmy Doyle Denton, 78, died Friday, July 12, 2013, at his residence in Tupelo. A New Albany native, he was born April 24, 1935, to James Curry and Loudale Garrison Denton. He was in the trucking industry all his life. He enjoyed his horses. He loved his family and cherished time spent with them. He attended Open Door Baptist Church.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 15, 2013, at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Scotty Crawson officiating and assistance by Ken Shaw. Burial will be in Vista Cemetery in New Albany.

Survivors include his sweetie and special companion, Bonnie Berry of Tupelo; two sons, Evan Denton (Balinda) of Myrtle and Todd Jordan (Christy) of Tupelo; five daughters, Beverly Reans (Mike) of Grenada, Laurie Norman (Pat) of New Albany, Mary Beth Vinson (Steve) of Tupelo, Cindy Hughes (Greg) of Saltillo and Beth Smithey (Tracy) of Pontotoc; fifteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Fannie Furnise of Rena Lara, Linda Murrah Patterson of New Albany and Jamie Tate of Ecru; two brothers, Robert and Billy Wayne Denton both of Ecru.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Bonnie Denton; his step-mother, Opal Denton.

Pallbearers will be Peyton, Will and Glenn Denton, Caleb Yates, Todd Jordan and Hunter Hughes.

Visitation will be 4 - 6 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2013, at the funeral home.
