Shannon " Jimmie I. (Pawpaw Jim) Henson,77, died May 12, 2009, after a brief illness at his residence in Shannon. He was an employee at Aircap MTD for forty-two years where he retired in 2000. A Hot Springs, Arkansas native, he was born November, 8, 1931 to the late William Robert and Mary Matthews Henson. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of Doty Chapel Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher, and had served as a church trustee and the director of discipleship training.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2009 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues, with Rev. Mike Smithey and Rev. Jim Manley officiating. Burial will be in Doty Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Annie Lorene Henson, of Shannon; two sons, John Henson of Tupelo, Stanley Stidham of Plantersville; three daughters, Mary Lindley (Charles) of Palmetto, Judy Flood of the home, Angie Smith (Steve) of Jackson, Tennessee; 18 grandchildren, John Henson II of Verona, Holly Dilberian (Brian) of Tupelo, Christa Henson of Southaven, Jason Stidham (Sherry) of Shannon, Justin Stidham (Kayla) of Pontocola, Dawn Cornelison (Brian) of Jackson, Tennessee, Jeremie Smith ( Hannah) of Jackson, Tennesse, Bridgette Smith of Kentucky, Colin Lindley (Jessica) of Germany, Erica Ratliff (Thomas) of Palmetto, Becky Adams ( Aaron) of Fulton, Madonna McClain of Fulton, Kathleen Christopher (Matt) of Brewer, Lindsey Miller (Cody) of Nettleton, William Scooter Henson (Courtney) of Nettleton, Jimmy John Henson ( Brandi) of Nettleton, Beverly Jones (Tim) of Brewer, Stephen and Paul Spears of Nettleton; and 26 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Faith Kimble Salas, one son, William Henson.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Jimmy Henson, Scooter Henson, Jason Stidham, Justin Stidham, Jeremie Smith, and John Henson,II.
Visitation will be 5 " 8 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2009 at the funeral home.
