Shannon - Jimmie Nell Grubbs, 56, died Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a sudden illness. She was born August 15, 1953 in Alabama to Kenneth and Christine Cole Irvin. She was a member of Doty Chapel Baptist Church in Shannon. She was the store manager of Sav-A-Lot in Amory. She was an avid Nascar fan, especially Dale Earnhardt Jr., loved Ole Miss sports and cooking. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her dog, Ellis.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Doty Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Mason and Rev. Jim Manley officiating. Burial will be in Doty Chapel Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Terry Grubbs of Shannon; two sons, John Knight of Amory and Anthony Knight (Teresa) of Tupelo; two daughters, Tracye Nance (Brian) of Tupelo and Jennifer Britt (Michael) of Southaven; four brothers, Charles Irvin of Alabama, Johnny Irvin of Hatley, Mickey Irvin and Rickey Irvin both of Alabama; father-in-law, Mayo Grubbs of Shannon; brother-in-law, Randy Grubbs (Trish) of Shannon; four grandchildren, Bailey Nance, Tanner Nance, Landon Knight and Lindley Knight; special friend, Jan Weeks of Okolona; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Thomas and James Irvin; her mother-in-law, Betty Grubbs; her son, Terry Grubbs Jr.
Pallbearers will be Barry Garrett, James Oswalt, Joe Cody, Mike Bray, Jerry Grubbs and Brian Nance.
Visitation will be 5 - 9 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at the Doty Chapel Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
