Jim Warren
SALTILLO - James Ray "Jim" Warren, 86, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at the Home Place Assisted Living in Saltillo after an extended illness. A native of D'Lo, he was born June 3, 1920, to the late Joe and Effie Wren. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving as a medical technician during World War II. He was married 67 years to Pat Thornton Warren, who preceded him in death Feb. 10, 2006. He owned an insurance company for many years in Jackson. A phenomenal real estate developer throughout the state, he later moved his family to Northeast Mississippi and began developing rental property. He loved his friends and the people who worked with him. He loved his family dearly and was very appreciative of the kindness shown him. He was a Methodist and a sincere Christian.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Tim Green officiating. Burial will be in the Saltillo Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Tim Dixon of Saltillo; two sisters, Margoriette Smith of Grafton, N.H., and Christine Flynt of D'Lo; 10 grandchildren, Christy Wren, Jocob Dixon, Zack Dixon, Hunter Dixon, Renee Bullard, Clint Warren, Tina Taylor, Jaime Jones, Ance Warren and Drake Grisham; 12 great-grandchildren; and close friend and co-worker, Ouida Massengill.
He was preceded in death by a son, Joe Warren; and a great-grandson, Josh Taylor.
Pallbearers will be Prentiss Turner, W.K. Webb, Ray Massingill, Gerald Michael, Dale Brock, David Fisher, Terry Bullard and Clint Warren.
