ANDREWS CHAPEL " Jim E. Pap Patterson, 69, died Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007, at the North Miss. Medical Center after a long illness. He was born April 23, 1938, in the Evergreen community to James C. and Annie Lucille Repult Patterson. He was the owner of Jim E. Patterson C.P.A. Firm for 26 years in Tupelo and a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He had served with the Mississippi National Guard. He attended Lawhon Jr. High School and was a graduate of Tupelo High School in 1956. He then graduated from Memphis State University in 1963, and established his C.P.A. business in 1964 in Memphis. He later moved to Tupelo in 1974 to establish his firm in Tupelo and worked there until his retirement on Dec. 31, 2000. He was an avid collector of antique radios and fans and loved to restore them.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors with the Rev. Ron Richardson officiating. Burial will be in the Andrews Chapel Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 48 1/2 years, Martha Jo Kelly Patterson of Andrews Chapel community; one daughter, Dr. Kirsten Bolton and Danny of Saltillo; one son, James Neal Patterson of Andrews Chapel; two grandchildren, Ryan Christopher Bolton and Jody Dalton Patterson; two sisters, Nan Roddy and Jimmy Dell Herring of Guntown and Barbara Anglin and Andy of Saltillo; three brothers, Bill Patterson of Brewer, Ken Patterson and Bertha of Tupelo and Sam Patterson Sr. and Faye of Saltillo; two nieces, Dr. Kendra Trujillo and David of Englewood, Colo. and Tayna Barnes and John of Southaven; three nephews, Sam Patterson Jr. and Jan and Robbie Patterson, all of Saltillo, and Walt Roddy and Terri of Natchez; one great-niece, Audrey and three great-nephews, Tyler, Travis and Trey.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Dale Herring, Dr. Thurmond Beasley, Hugh Lamar, Ben Burleson, Fred May, Tim Nichols and Chuck Moffett.

Visitation will be from noon until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
