JIM LONG LIVINGSTON Jim Long Livingston, 91, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Sanctuary Hospice House after a brief illness. He was born January 20, 1924 to Jim L. and Bonnie Mae Livingston. His love of flying as a teenager led to his joining the Army Air Corps. As a pilot in WWII, he flew a number of different planes all over the world. He also was an instructor at Columbia Air Force Base for the Korean Conflict. He returned to Tupelo and in the 1950's bought Carl Moore Piano Company. Following the sale of the company, he worked as a real estate agent for Cooper Realty and as a property developer. Jim Long was mostly known for his musical abilities. As an avid singer, songwriter, musician and a devoted family man of deep faith, he spent his life sharing his talent with everyone. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Hurt officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife Joyce Boyd Livingston of Tupelo; children, Jenny Livingston of Tupelo, Clay Livingston (Carolyn) of Nashville, Tennessee, Jeff "Moe" Livingston of Tupelo, Jim Livingston (Sarah) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Joanna Megginson (Gray) of Tupelo, Jeffery Boyd (Nancy) of Brookhaven and Jennifer Hotten (Jim) of Birmingham, Alabama; brother, Jack Livingston (Peggy) of Tupelo; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Sarah Ann Livingston; one brother, Dick Livingston; one grandchild, Brad Nance. Pallbearers will be George Taylor, Greg Pirkle, David Larrimore, Bill Langston, Billy Roberson, Jim Hotten and Jim Mounce.
