Belden - Jewell Lorene Ms. Jewell Lamb, 64, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at her daughters residence in Eggville after an extended illness. A native of the Carolina Community and lifelong resident of Lee County, she was born February 15, 1947, to Ed and Mamie Duvall Barrett. She worked at Joyner-Fields for over 26 years. She had been a member of Belden Baptist Church since age 16, working in the nursery for 46 years and served in the church kitchen for about 15 years, helping with Wednesday night suppers and special occasions. She enjoyed baking bread and pickles for friends and family and will be remembered as an individual with a true servant's heart. She was an example of Christianity to all who knew her and loved her family and church.

Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Belden Baptist Church with Dr. Jim Holcomb and Dr. Gerald Gann officiating. Burial will be in Andrews Chapel Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include three daughters, Evelyn Ray ( Michael) of West Point, Vickey Arnold (Dan) Huntsville, Ala.; and Tina Byrd (Tracy) of Eggville Community; her sister, Sue Enlow of Fulton; five grandchildren, Lori Beth Byrd, Victoria Norris, John Tubbs, Kacey Byrd and Nathen Arnold; special family friend, Jay Otts of Belden.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, William D. Lamb who died June 17, 1994; sister, Gladys Stanphill; a brother, Gilbert Barrett.

Pallbearers will be Mark Jarrett, Eddie Baker, Don Scott, Sean Milner, and Richard Stephenson

Honorary pallbearers will be the Kitchen Workers at Belden Baptist Church and all the children who came through the church nursery during the 46 years Ms. Jewell served.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m Friday at the church and 2 p.m. to service time Saturday
