Jewel Smith

Tupelo—Jewel Smith, at the age of 89, passed away Monday, December 12, 2022 at her home surrounded by family. She was born December 19, 1932 in Booneville, the daughter of Noel and Delzie Hutchins Bumpers. Jewel for 28 years at Brown Shoe until their closing and then for Carrozza Furniture until her retirement. Her life revolved around her family and she cherished every moment she could spend with them.
Jewel leaves behind two children, Vickie Eaton (Marshall) of Guntown and Dek Smith (Elyse) of Pontotoc; seven grandchildren, Tracy Jones, Trudy Bates, Brandi Ferrell, Kevin Smith, Shannon Cox, Kyle Eaton and Kody Smith, Josh Bagley, and Casey Scruggs; 13 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Keith Smith.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Pegues, Saltillo.
Services honoring Jewel’s memory will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Saltillo Chapel with Rev. Ron Cottom officiating. Burial will follow at Prentiss Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kayson Newsom, Clay Hoover, Kaden Bates, Kyle Eaton, Kevin Smith, and Kody Smith.
