Mooreville - Jewel Elizabeth Parker, 71, died Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a sudden illness. A native of Arkansas, she was born March 10, 1939, to Luther Lee and Annie Lou Gray Stacks. She was raised and lived most of her life in Itawamba and Lee Counties. She worked 30 years for Reed Maufacturing. She enjoyed playing bingo, dominoes, traveling, fishing and gardening. She loved spending time with her family.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Meryl Floyd officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Walker Parker, Jr. of Mooreville; two sons, Danny Parker (Debbie) of Corinth and James Parker (Tonya) of Baldwyn; her sister, Betty Floyd of Mooreville; two granddaughters, Jessica and Brittany Parker, both of Amory; two great-great-grandsons, Connor and Cameron Parker; a special sister-in-law, Betty Jo Stacks of Dorsey; numerous extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Ruby Dunaway and her two brother, L.C. Stacks, Will T. Stacks.
Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
