Tupelo - Jewel Miller, 88, died Monday, February 2, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center, Hospice Unit after an extended illness. A native of tupelo, she was born September 6, 1926 to the late Edward Green and Ivy Lee Hastings Tucker. She loved watching old series on television, playing bingo with her dear friend Carolyn. She was a member of the Pentecostal Church. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Jefferson Street Chapel with Rev. Steve Parrish and Rev. Ken Miller officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include three sons, Rev. Ken Miller (Mary Ann) of Ecru, Morris Miller (Norma) of Tupelo, Myron Miller (Anita) of Mooreville; 21 grandchildren; her special grandson and caregiver, Monte Miller of Tupelo; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Miller; her parents; one daughter, Linda Cathrine Painter and her brothers and sisters. Pallbearers will be Johnny Cheney, Shawn Miller, Chad Miller, John Greene III "Trey", Nathaniel Perez, Peter Perez and Drew Jordan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Monte Miller, Bronson Miller and Micah Miller. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the funeral home.
