Jettie Lansdell Williams

Eggville - Jettie Lansdell Williams, 89, died Sunday, October 12, 2008, at The Meadows in Fulton after a lengthy illness. She was born March 27, 1919 in the Jugfork Community of Union County to Samuel Cleveland and Sara Renne Pannell Lansdell. She married Elmer Williams, July 3, 1942 and they remained married until he preceded her in death on September 1, 1979. She was a member of Beech Springs Freewill Baptist Church and also attended Eggville Freewill Baptist Church. After retiring from Hunter Sadler after more than 17 years, she remained physically and mentally active with hobbies such as word puzzles and word searches, gardening, quilting, and reading her Bible. She enjoyed time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved to cook for her family especially chicken and dumplings and biscuits.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Sammy Lansdell and Rev. Tim Green officiating. Burial will be in Eggville Cemetery with private graveside services.

Survivors include five daughters, Martha Tanner (Aubrey) of Carr Vista of Verona, Margie Smith (Aaron) of Eggville, Katie Guthrie (Earnest) of Guntown, Grace Watts (Richard) of Baldwyn, Cleo Hurley (Raymond) of Eggville; six sons, Jimmy Williams (Ruby Doris) of Pontotoc, Buddy Williams (Alice) of Saltillo, Thealbert Williams (Lori) of Eggville, Lenard Williams (Tammie) of Eggville, Mike Williams (Debbie) of Peppertown, Nathen Williams of Verona; two brothers, David Lansdell of Saltillo and J.W. Lansdell of Mooreville; two sister-in-laws, Loraine Lansdell of Blue Mountain and Barbara Ann Lansdell of Pontotoc; 21 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, her parents, seven brothers, Jessie Lansdell, Frank Lansdell, Bill Lansdell, Claude Lansdell, Gene Lansdell, Jack Lansdell and M.H. Lansdell; three sisters, Mable Donahue, Ruby Motts and Lula Williams.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Bruce Sanders, Neil Williams, Brad Smith, Chad Smith, Stephen Collier, Matt Williams, Blake Williams and Tim Tanner.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the remaining grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to The Meadows in Fulton, 1905 South Adams, Fulton, Mississippi, 38843.
