JESSIE RAY HOOD
Lexington, Ky. - Jessie Ray Hood, 47, died Sunday, October 1, 2006, at Markey Cancer Center in Lexington, Ky. after an extended illness. A Tupelo native, he was born November 5, 1958 to Beatrice Montgomery Hood and the late Haskell Hood. He enjoyed cooking, gardening and fishing.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, October 6, 2006 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Jack Ezell officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Jessica Renee Hood Marcy; three sons, Perry Allan Hood and wife, Stacy, Timothy Ray Hood and wife, Jessica, and Christopher Blake Hood; his mother, Beatrice Lavelle Hood, all of Mooreville; six grandchildren, Cody Marcy, Perry, Maci, Riley, Dustin, and Kaylee Hood; four sisters, Virginia Dickey and husband, Jimmy of Mooreville, Martha Foster of Mooreville, Frances Williams and husband, Mack, of Tupelo and Eva Dunn of Nashville, Tenn.; three brothers, Harrison Hood of Mooreville, JR Hood of Columbus, and Phillip Hood of Mooreville; and one sister-in-law, Joann Hood of Brewer.
He was preceded in death by his father,Haskell Henry Hood; and a brother, James Hood.
Pallbearers will be Herman McElwain, Jr., Randy Bell, Shawn Bell, Thomas Barnett, Jimmy Dickey, and Sammy Taylor.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
